ALVARGÅRDEN B&B is open throughout the year, except for some weeks in the winter, and is situated in the village of Kastlösa, in the middle of the World Heritage, in the southern part of the island, Öland.
We have four nice, bright rooms with a view over the garden, village and Alvaret.
ALVARGÅRDEN FILM & CULTURE CENTER is a forum for culture and education, with a firm focus on film and performing arts. We offer a permanent meeting place with seminars, courses and workshops where professional actors, directors, cinematographers, script writers and others has the opportunity to continuously train, explore and develop their skills in their respective professions and crafts.
ALVARGÅRDEN FILM & CULTURE CENTER is cooperating with The Swedish Film Institute.
We have started the ventures of our cultural activities with lectures and screenings, featuring big profiles within the Swedish film industry as; Stefan Jarl, Jan Troell, Bengt Forslund, Peter Gerdehag and the filmmakers Tom Alandh who won the “Big Journalist Prize Award 2017” and Ahang Bashi, who was awarded with the “Newcomer of the Year” at The Guldbagge award show of 2017.
We also offer courses, seminars and workshops in the fields of film production, cinematography, directing, script writing and acting to all those seeking to learn more about film and performing arts.
Within the span of 3-5 years, we aim to start a international film festival in the southern parts of Öland, where we for example intend to have outdoor screenings under the beautiful night sky of Alvaret.
